2008 Country Garden Tour of Fallbrook
It’s that time of year again and the Fallbrook Branch of the American Association of University Women is planning its 13th annual Country Garden Tour of Fallbrook: Pools, Patios and More.
Chairing this year’s event are husband and wife team Susan and Jeff Nelson who plan to have six or seven gardens available including a docent conducted tour of the Los Jilgueros Preserve. One garden features a small vineyard with a wine “cave” and another is a two acre garden filled with low water use plants and three outdoor viewing sections.
Of course, there will be the “usual” bountiful floral displays, waterfalls, hardscaping and glamorous pools. A very exciting selection is in store for garden lovers to get ideas and dream. Pleine air artists will be at several sites, as well.
The starting place will be the lovely, historic Palomares House, 1815 Stage Coach Lane where complimentary refreshments will be served and garden related merchants available to offer their unique wares. The date is set for Saturday, May 10 12-4 pm, rain or shine.
Advance tickets may be purchased by sending a SASE to Susan Nelson, 252 Calle Linda, Fallbrook, CA 92028 for $15 each or at the door, the day of the tour for $20. All proceeds go to fund scholarships for local students. For further information the Nelsons may be reached at 760.451-9532.
